Bellingham July 2004 – Due to the lack of public support, and increased pressure by local private interests, the commissioners voted to disband the PUD network. The existing fiber network around Bellingham was sold to the City of Bellingham, and Transport service providers were ordered to disband use of the network after the City took possession. The Collocation facility was sold to CSS Communications. The entire fiber infrastructure has been dedicated to city and government use.
